William James Fargher was born in Sydney, New South Wales was single and was employed as a Turner. He enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 19. He volunteered and was stationed with the 8th Battalion, 16th Reinforcements later transferring to the 1st Anzac Cyclists Battalion with the Regimental number 5083. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 4th of July 1919. Tree number 3414.
