Born in Ballarat, Ivo Nelson was a single 25 year old traveller at the time of his enlistment on the 1st of February 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on the 4th of May 1916.
Ivo returned to Australia on the 10th of September 1919, and was discharged on the 22nd of November 1919.
