Robert Osborne Reed (SN 18561) born at Ballarat, was a 20 year old warehouseman when he enlisted in Melbourne on May 1st 1917. He had previously served six months Home Service. He embarked on August 4th aboard the Themistocles. From April 1918 he served on the Western Front with the 5th Division Signal Corps, avoiding serious illness or injury. He returned home aboard the Ulysses, disembarked at Melbourne on September 2nd 1919 and was discharged on October 2nd. He also enlisted to serve during WW2 with service number V366930.
