Biography

George Welsh was born in Ballarat and enlisted as a labourer from Ballarat South on 12th December 1915. He was single and 18 year old. He was posted to the 24th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 4219. Later he was transferred to the 58th Infantry Battalion. On 6th September, 1918 he died of wounds received at Peronne, and is buried in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
