Albert Hall (SN 1566) born at Talbot, was a 23 year old labourer when he enlisted in Melbourne on November 26th 1914. He embarked aboard the Runic on February 19th 1915 and joined the 8th Battalion on Gallipoli on May 8th. In late August he was evacuated to Egypt dangerously ill suffering from enteric fever. He was returned to Australia aboard the Commonwealth and was discharged on October 9th 1916 ‘medically unfit, enteric’.
