Edwin George Bernard Whiting was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single and was employed as a Engine Driver. He enlisted in Geelong, Victoria at the age of 29. He volunteered and was stationed with the 3rd Pioneer Battalion, Machine Gun Section with the Regimental number 121. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 10th of December 1918.
