Biography

Robert Murdock Kerr (SN 3177) was born at Burrumbeet and attended the Weatherboard State School. He enlisted in Ballarat on November 10th 1916 as a 23 year old single farmer. He joined the 58th Infantry Battalion, departing from Australia a month later on board the Medic. During the fighting at Mont St Quentin in September 1918 he was seriously wounded and admitted to the 14th Australian Field Ambulance but died the following day, September 3rd 1918. He is buried in Assevillers New British Cemetery, France.
