Biography

Henry Albert Jennings (SN 7364) born in Ballarat, was a 31 year old hairdresser when he enlisted in Melbourne on September 20th 1916. Assigned to the 14th Infantry Battalion he embarked for overseas service on February 9th 1917 aboard the Ballarat which was torpedoed off the English coast on Anzac Day 1917. Jennings survived this event and was able to move to France in August. He then completed his service with no further major event and returned to Australia aboard the Frankfurt, disembarked on August 20th 1919 and was discharged on September 27th.
