Biography

Alexander Lloyd (SN 3184A) was born in Ballarat and attended Urquhart Street State School. He enlisted at Yea, where he was employed as a bootmaker, on October 25th 1916. 27 years old and unmarried, he was accepted into the 59th Infantry Battalion and departed for the Front in December on board the Medic. He didn't reach France until October 1917 and was killed in action at Villers-Bretonneux on April 25th 1918. He is buried in the Crucifix Corner Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux, France.
