John Andrew Gibb McGregor, born in Sebastopol, was a single, engine driver aged 44 when he enlisted at Wangaratta on February 27 1917 with the Field Company Engineers. He embarked from Sydney aboard the Anchises on August 8 1917. He spent the rest of his service in England suffering ill health. He was deemed medically unfit for service and embarked for Melbourne on January 10 1918 and was discharged on April 5 1918.
