Albert Gordon Boustead (SN 55334) was born in Newlyn, was single and employed as a bank clerk. He enlisted in Ballarat at the age of 19 on July 17th 1917. After some initial training he embarked from Sydney on board the Borda on July 17th 1918. He was allocated to the 6th Victorian General Service Reinforcements and later after the signing of the armistice transfered to the Australian Army Pay Corps in London. He returned home to Australia on the Pakeha in November 1919 and was discharged on December 17th.
He also enlisted again during World War 2.
His brother Howard also served in the AIF and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
