Biography

Born in St. Arnaud, Victoria, William Francis Moncrieff was a single 18 year old groom at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 14th of November 1917. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board S.S. Port Darwin on the 14th of September 1918.
William returned to Australia on the 29th of August 1919, and was discharged on the 13th of September 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
