Biography

Archibald Kerr (SN 3696) was born in Wycheproof, attended Addington State School and enlisted in Ballarat on November 10th 1917. He was 33 years of age, married, and a horse driver. He was posted to 5th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne in late February 1918 on board the Nestor. He was posted to France with the 57th Battalion in July. During the fighting at St Quentin Canal he was seriously wounded. He was evacuated to hospital in the UK, where he died on October 5th 1918. He is buried in the Netley Military Cemetery, Hampshire, UK.
