Biography

Born in Ballarat, Walter Graham Johnson was a single 19 year old clerk at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 15th of November 1917. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A74 Marathon on the 23rd of July 1918.
He was promoted to Lance Corporal on the 7th of June 1918.
On the 8th of December 1918 Walter was taken on strength as a Gunner with the 4th Divisional Ammunition Column.
He returned to Australia on the 2nd of September 1919 and was discharged on the 17th of September 1919.
