Charles Wilson (SN 62184) born at Ballarat, was a 37 year old slaughterman when he enlisted in Adelaide on December 22nd 1917. He embarked aboard the Gaika on August 6th 1918 and reached England just a month before the Armistice was signed. He was allotted to the 43rd Infantry Battalion but did not leave England before he returned to Australia aboard the Ceramic. He disembarked at Melbourne on March 14th 1919 and was discharged on two weeks later .
