Biography

John Alexander Paterson was born in Ballarat and was a Butcher when he enlisted in the 58th Battalion, 10th Reinforcement on 4 January 1918 at the age of 19. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Ormonde on 7 March 1918. His record shows he escaped any serious injury or illness, receiving a clean bill of health upon the date of his discharge, 15 July 1920.
