Born in Ballarat, William Percival Nankervis was a single 20 year old engineer at the time of his enlistment on the 9th of February 1918. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Ormonde on the 7th of March 1918.
William returned to Australia on the 16th of June 1919, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 16th of July 1919.
