Thomas Alexander Clarke (SN 2786) born in Ballarat, was a 26 year old railway employee when he enlisted in Melbourne on February 15th 1918. He trained with the Railway Unit before embarking aboard the Zealandic on October 5th. The war had ended by the time he reached London but in early 1919 he was deployed to France for a time with the Graves Registration Detachment. He returned to Australia aboard the Port Denison, disembarked at Melbourne on November 13th 1919 and was discharged on November 28th.
