Biography

Christopher Dyer (SN 52820) born at Ballarat, was a 19 year old railway porter when he enlisted in Ballarat on February 18th 1918. As a General Service Reinforcement he embarked from Sydney aboard the Wiltshire’on June 10th and sailed to Egypt where he was assigned to the 4th Light Horse Regiment. He saw out the final months of the war in the Middle East before returning to Australia aboard the Essex. He reached Melbourne on July 25th 1919 and was discharged on October 9th.
