Born in Ballarat, John Thomas Horgan was a single 18 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment on the 4th of January 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 14th of April 1915.
On the 18th of July 1915 he was admitted for a shrapnel wound to his left hand.
John returned to Australia on the 6th of August 1915 and was discharged on the 4th of December 1918.
