Biography

George Griffiths Woolcott (SN 57474) born at Ballarat, was a 20 year old station hand when he enlisted in Sydney May 6th 1918 . He embarked from Sydney aboard the Port Sydney on August 17th with the 4th General Service Reinforcements and reached Suez on September 19th. He was posted to the 4th Light Horse Regiment but with the signing of the Armistice he was returned to Australia aboard the Lancashire, disembarked on March 31st 1919 and was discharged on April 14th.
