Born in Ballarat, Alun Idrisyn Jones was a single 18 year old motor mechanic at the time of his enlistment on the 24th of April 1918. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A30 Borda on the 17th of July 1918.
Alun returned to Australia on the 10th of September 1919 and was discharged on the 25th of September 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
