Frank R. Wood was a single 19 year old hairdresser when he enlisted on the 24th of April 1918. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A30 Borda on the 17th of July 1918. Frank returned to Australia on the 8th of February 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 23rd of February 1919 suffering from asthma.
