Biography

James O'Connor (SN 60704) was born in Ballarat and was working as a motor mechanic when he enlisted on May 10th 1918. He was 24 years old and single. He was posted to the 7th Infantry Battalion and embarked in July. On February 8th 1919, three months after the signing of the Armistice, he died of influenza in the 55th Casualty Clearing Station, and is buried in Charleroi Communal Cemetery, Belgium.
