Biography

Ewart Wray Pridgeon was born in Ballarat and was a Clerk living in St Kilda when he enlisted in the 8th General (Victorian) Reinforcements on 10 May 1918 at the age of 20. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A74 Marathon on 23 July 1918 and disembarking at London on 27 September 1918. Less than a month later he was hospitalised suffering from influenza. After his recovery he travelled to France where he continued to serve with the reinforcements until 16 May 1919 when he returned to Australia.
