Percy Charles Frank (SN 51586) born at Coghill’s Creek , was an 18 year old farm labourer when he enlisted in Melbourne on February 12th 1918. With the 3rd General Service Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard the Orontes on June 3rd but on the voyage, he forfeited seven days pay for carving his name in the ship’s rail. On arrival in England, he was allotted to the 39th Battalion but with the cessation of hostilities he did not reach the battlefields. He returned to Australia aboard the Port Denison, disembarked at Melbourne on November 13th 1919 and was discharged on December 6th. He also enlisted to serve during WW2 with service number V4958.
