Biography

James William Gay (SN 2797) born in Nhill, was a married 37 year old railway official when he enlisted in Sydney on June 11th 1918. He embarked aboard the Zealandic on October 5th but the war had ended by the time he reached London. He returned to Australia aboard the Leicestershire, disembarked at Melbourne on June 22nd 1919 and was discharged on July 6th.
