Biography

Henry James Evans (SN 69015) born at Allendale, was an 18 year old pattern maker when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 10th 1918. With the 16th General Service Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard the Carpentaria on November 7th, just four days prior to the signing of the Armistice. Consequently the Carpentaria was recalled, and he disembarked on November 28th and was discharged on Christmas eve.
