Biography

Walter Rennie Hearn was born in Ballarat and was a Labourer by trade when he enlisted in the 15th General (Victorian) Reinforcements on 17 July 1918 at the age of 18. On October 22nd, just three weeks before the fighting ceased, he embarked from Adelaide on the Boonah. With the signing of the Armistice, the Boonah was recalled to Australia and he disembarked on December 20th 1918.
