Biography

Robert Cecil Borradale (SN 3224) was born at Creswick but was a 19 year old railway engine cleaner from Webster Street Ballarat when he enlisted in late June 1918. He trained at the Railway Unit at Broadmeadows before embarking on the Boonah for a posting to the Railway Unit in the U.K. He sailed from Adelaide on October 22nd 1918 just three weeks before the cessation of hostilities, but the Boonah was recalled and he disembarked on December 20th.
