Biography

John Charles Welsh ( SN 3223) born in Ballarat, was a 23 year old railway porter when he enlisted on July 17th 1915 (SN 4095) but in November he was discharged ‘medically unfit, hernia'. He re-enlisted on September 3rd 1918 and embarked from Adelaide aboard the Boonah. With the signing of the Armistice, the Boonah was recalled, and he was discharged on February 1st 1919.
