Biography

John David Jarman (SN 3778) born at Christchurch New Zealand, was a married 29 year old mechanic when he enlisted in Melbourne on September 9th 1918. He trained at Laverton, was assigned to the Australian Flying Corps as an air mechanic and embarked aboard the Boonah on October 22nd. With the signing of the Armistice, the Boonah was recalled. He disembarked at Melbourne on December 20th1918 and was discharged on February 1st 1919. He also enlisted to serve with the RAAF.
