Biography

Born in Skipton, Victoria and a Soldier by occupation, Albert George Cairns was 26 years and married when enlisted on the 9th of September 1918 in the Australian Flying Corps - Special Draft, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Corporal, Number 3788. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 'Nestor' on the 28th of February 1918. Promoted Corporal in the special Draft Flying Corps U.K. on the 22nd of October 1918. Discharged from the 3rd Military District, Military Unit on the 5th of February 1919. Tree No. 3686
