Alexander Sutherland Murray MacPherson was a single 28 year old clergyman at the time of his enlistment on the 3rd of July 1916. His unit embarked on the 3rd of July 1916 from Melbourne, Victoria on board the HMAT A33 Ayrshire.
On the 1st of June 1918, Alexander was appointed Chaplain, 3rd Class.
Alexander returned to Australia on the 8th of February 1919 and his appointment was terminated on the 18th of March 1919.
