Biography

Percy Basil Robin was born in Sydney, NSW, was single and a Student living in Ballarat when he enlisted in the No 1 Australian General Hospital on 3 August 1915 at the age of 20. His unit embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia, on board A62 Wandilla on 25 June 1915. On 4 July 1917 he was charged with the offense of being absent without leave from 3 pm 31 May to 1 pm 1 April, for which he was forfeited six days' pay.

He transferred to the 4th Machine Gun Battalion and was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on 18 December 1918 and to Lieutenant on 18 March 1919, shortly before returning to Australia on 15 May 1919.
