Biography

Born in Ballarat, Victoria and a Labourer by trade, Charles George Binnie was 21 years and single when enlisted on the 31st of July 1915 in the 15th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 3238. His Unit embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on board HMAT A48 'Seang Bee' on the 2nd of October 1915.On the 30th of December 1916 admitted to N.Z. Staty Hospital Amiens Veneral Disease sick. On the 11th of April 1917 officially reported Prisoner of War and is interned at Gefangenenlager, Limburg, Germany and was listed as returned to Australia on the 9th of February 1919. Returned per 'Ascanius' on the 24th of March 1919 with Termination of Period of Enlistment and discharged on the 17th of May 1919. Tree No.3736
