Frederick William Redman was born in Creswick but was farming at Sulky Gully when he enlisted on 15th July 1915. He was 21 years of age, and single. He was posted to the 8th Light Horse Regiment, with Regimental No. 7949. On 19th November 1917 he died of wounds inflicted during the advance on Jerusalem of the Australian Mounted Division. He is buried in the Ramleh War Cemetery, Israel.
