Biography

Frederick Victor Taylor (SN 7946 ) born in Geelong, was a 26 year old wheelwright when he enlisted in Colac on July 17th 1915. On November 5th he embarked aboard the Ascanius and in June 1916 he reached France to serve with the 29th Company Australian Service Corps. He was then fortunate enough to serve through the war without serious illness or injury. He returned to Australia aboard the Beltana, disembarked on July 19th 1919 and was discharged on September 10th.

Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Fred V. Taylor.
