Phillip Dorter was born in Ballarat, Victoria was single and was employed as a Miner. He enlisted in Blackboy Hill, Western Australia at the age of 32. He volunteered and was stationed with the 16th Battalion, 1st Reinforcement with the Regimental number 772. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 17th of July 1916. Tree number 3479.
