Biography

Born in Ballarat, John Munro Lyle was a single 24 year old clerk at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 5th of September 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on the 2nd of October 1916.
On the 17th of August 1917, John was appointed Lance Corporal. He was promoted to Second Lieutenant on the 15th of October, and on the 15th of May 1918, he was promoted to Lieutenant.
John's appointment was terminated on the 6th of June 1919.
