Biography

Harold Reece Dalton was born in Ballarat and was a Clerk by trade when he enlisted in the Tunnelling Companies (September 1916-February 1918): June 1917 Reinforcements on 9 February 1917 at the age of 21. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board SS Indarra on 26 November 1917. In March he crossed over to France where he served out the final year of the war with the 2nd Australian Tunnelling Company. He returned to Australia on the Main, disembarking at Melbourne on October 11th 1919.
