George Henderson Barker (SN 3764) born in Ballarat, was a 23 year old clerk when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 13th 1915. He embarked aboard the Warilda on February 8th destined for service in France with the 21st Infantry Battalion. He avoided battle wounds but was troubled by pneumonia. Towards the end of the war he was transferred to the Australian Service Corps. He returned to Australia aboard the Trasos Montes, disembarked at Melbourne on May 22nd 1919 and was discharged on July 7th.
