Biography

George Edward Buchanan Munro (SN 806/Lt.) was born in Alfredton and attended the Alfredton State School. He enlisted in Melbourne on March 27th 1915. He was 24 years old, single and a commercial traveller. He served with the 24th Infantry Battalion at Gallipoli from late August and went on to the Western Front as a Lieutenant. He was wounded at Ville-sur-Ancre, and died on May 22nd 1918. He is buried in Vignacourt British Cemetery, France.
