Biography

Henry Brew (Captain), born in Ballarat and a Ballarat resident, had had six years military service in England before he joined the Australian Sea Transport Corps in April 1916 at the age of 52. He served as a Transport Officer aboard ships taking soldiers to Egypt or England and returning to Australia with the sick and wounded. He made several voyages aboard the Omrah, the Armadale, the Ascanius and the Euripides until his position was terminated in late 1917.
