Joseph Edwards was born in Dunolly, Victoria was single and was employed as a Labourer. He enlisted in Broadmeadows, Victoria at the age of 24. He volunteered and was stationed with the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, Brigade Ammunition Column with the Regimental number 1385. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 8th of October 1918. Tree number 3810.
