Biography

Norman Stanley McLeod (SN 34058) was born at Horsham and was a 22 year old grocer when he enlisted on November 17th 1916. He embarked aboard the Ascanius on May 11th 1917 and sailed for England. After further training in England, he crossed to France in November to serve as a driver with the 1st Division Ammunition Column. In September 1918 he was evacuated to hospital in England suffering myalgia. It was determined that he should return to Australia, and he left England on December 9th aboard the Argyllshire suffering from chronic rheumatism. He was discharged as medically unfit on February 24th 1919.
