Biography

Royce Frederick Gordon Edwards (Lt.) born in Ballarat, was a married 33 year old career soldier when he was commissioned on March 1st 1918. With the 6th General Service Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard the Borda on July 17th. On arrival in England he was assigned to the 6th Infantry Battalion, but the war finished before he could be deployed to the battle front. He returned to Australia aboard the Nestor, disembarked at Melbourne on December 15th 1919 and his commission was terminated on February 7th 1920 .
