Leslie McConchie (SN V75633) born in Melbourne, was an 18 year old turner when he enlisted in Ballarat on April 26th 1918. He trained with the Australian Flying Corps at Laverton, becoming a 2nd Class Air Mechanic but with the war ending he was discharged on December 24th 1918.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Les S. McConchi.
