John Evon Young was the alias of John Evan Bartle who was born in Mackay, Queensland, was single and was employed as a Axeman. He enlisted in Brisbane, Queensland at the age of 20. He volunteered and was stationed with the 9th Battalion, 9th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 2924. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 12th of December 1918. Tree number 3830.
