Biography

John William Young (SN 69141) born in Melbourne, was a 19 year old enameller when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 23rd 1918. With the 16th General Service Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard the Carpentaria on November 7th, just four days before the Armistice was signed. The Carpentaria was recalled and he disembarked at Sydney on November 28th and was discharged on December 24th.
