Biography

Harry Watson (SN 2732) born in Melbourne, was a 25 year old labourer when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 29th 1916. He embarked aboard the Nestor on October 2nd. In December he reached France to serve with the 58th Infantry Battalion. He was wounded three times during his service, shell shock in May 1917, gassed in April 1918 and a mild gunshot wound in September 1918. He returned to Australia aboard the City of Exeter, disembarked at Melbourne on March 2nd 1919 and was discharged on April 9th.
